KIRKLAND – Northwest gets back to action Friday and Saturday with a pair of home games.

The Eagles host Texas-Permian Basin in an exhibition Friday at 5 p.m. and Puget Sound at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Not only has Northwest never played Texas-Permian Basin, but the Eagles have also not played a team from Texas.

Northwest has a vaccine protocol in place for fans. Proof of a full vaccination battery (completed on or before Nov. 9) or a negative PCR COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the scheduled game time (after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov 20) is required. Self-administered tests are not acceptable.

The Eagles are getting double-figure scoring from three players this season, led by CaCoa Chatman at 16 points per game. Connor Drinkwine averages 15.5, and Tanner Davis gets 11 points per game. Chatman and Drinkwine have been superb at the three-point arc, where Drinkwine is shooting 48.3 percent and Chatman 40.

Tanner Davis used a 15-rebound outing on Tuesday to muscle up his average to eight rebounds per game. Rayvaughn Bolton has hustled his way to 5.3 rebounds per game.

Northwest moved to 2-2 on the season on Tuesday with an 89-71 win over Evergreen State. Northwest got double-doubles from Davis (14 points, 15 rebounds) and Bolton (17 points, 11 rebounds). Chatman added 16 points and eight assists, while Tre Newman had 17 points in his debut as a starter.

Texas-Permian Basin makes its first trip out of Odessa, where the Falcons are 2-1. Jordan Horn leads UTPB with 16.3 points per game, with Miles Daniels getting 13.7. Dajuan Jones averages 12.3 points and leads the team with 19 assists. Lemmie Howard tops the team in rebounds at 6.3.

Northwest is 10-6 all time against Puget Sound, but the Loggers won the last meeting, 92-81, in Tacoma. NU hasn't lost at home to UPS since 2004.

Davis is the only starter from the Eagles' last meeting with Puget Sound. He had nine points and eight rebounds in the loss. Cal Hansen, who scored 12 as a starter in that 2019 game, is still with the Loggers.

Puget Sound is 3-3, including wins over Cascade Collegiate Conference members Multnomah and Evergreen State. Paul Johnson leads the Loggers with 21.6 points per game, shooting 47 percent from three-point range. Hansen averages 11.2 points and nine rebounds. Mussie Teclemariam averages 10 rebounds off the bench.
