KIRKLAND – Northwest bids adieu to its senior class this weekend as it wraps up the 2021 season at Bellevue High School Saturday and Sunday.
Doubleheaders start at noon on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
The Eagles plan to honor the 2020 senior class between games Saturday and 2021 seniors
Sammi Caron and
Sam Parisio after Sunday's games. The 2020 senior class included
Yeawa Asabi,
Laurissa Lee,
Alexis Contreras,
Rachel Hawley, and
Carly Tighe.
Heading into the season finale,
Sammi Caron is second all time with 103 hits and 72 runs.
Sam Parisio is the all-time NU leader in sacrifices with 20 and fifth with 75 hits. Parisio has started all 149 games of her career.
Northwest hits .245 as a team, led by
Jordan Dippel at .311 and
Palena Gomes at .308.
Jessica Nunes, with seven home runs, three doubles, and a triple, leads the Eagles with a .584 slugging percentage. Caron tops the team with a .404 on-base percentage. Nunes leads with 23 RBIs, and Dippel has a team-high 18 runs.
The Eagles have an 8.61 earned run average.
Sydney Maurer leads the team with a 7.15 ERA, and
Becca Rennick is a team-best four wins.
Bushnell holds a 15-8 lead in the all-time series. The teams didn't play last season, but the Eagles took the last series, 3-1, in 2019.
Northwest went 1-3 at Corban, ending a 15-game losing streak to the Warriors.
Sydney Maurer batted .500,
Ashley Oswald hit .429, and
Jordan Dippel hit .364 for the series.
Jessica Nunes had her seventh home run of the season, and she and
Alyssa Maldonado drove in four runs each.
Bushnell is 10-32 this season and 7-17 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Beacons can make the playoffs by sweeping the Eagles if Eastern Oregon or Warner Pacific get swept this weekend.
The Beacons are hitting .266 and have a team earned run average of 7.52. Miranda Jensen leads Bushnell in both categories, batting .424 and carrying a 4.86 earned run average. She also leads the team with 18 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.
