KIRKLAND – Stayton High School standout Cedella Ritchie signed to play softball at Northwest last week.
Â
Ritchie, a utility player from Lyons, Oregon, earned four varsity awards and was a three-time All-Conference honorable mention selection. She earned her team's Defensive Player of the Year award in 2018, helped SHS reach the 2019 State Tournament, and was a team captain in 2021. She also plays travel ball with the NW Vandals.
Â
"We are overjoyed to have Cedella join our softball family," said NU Head Coach Pam Fink. "She is a versatile player that can play infield or outfield. She will fit right into our family dynamic because she is a great teammate. She is a hard worker and competitor. We are looking forward to watching her develop as a person and player."
Â
She is the daughter of Darrell and Joanna Ritchie.
Â
"I chose Northwest because of the opportunities I have academically and athletically," Ritchie said. "I also enjoy the location and environment the school offers."
