KIRKLAND - Northwest stops in Portland on Wednesday at 7 p.m., taking on Lewis & Clark College in the third installment of its three-game season-opening road swing.

Fans are required to wear a mask at outdoor gatherings, regardless of vaccination status, as required by the governor of Oregon. Wednesday's game will be the first Lewis & Clark women's soccer game in which fans are allowed to attend. They also must have proof of vaccination or a negative test in the last 72 hours. Here is the

Northwest last played the Pioneers in 2019–the previous fall season for both teams. NU scored a 3-1 win in that victory, also in Portland.
Olivia Morris had a goal and an assist in that game, and
Callie Wright had the game-winning goal.

Northwest is 1-0-2 all-time against Lewis & Clark College. The teams played to a scoreless draw in 2008 in Kirkland and a 1-1 tie in 2010 in Portland.

Northwest makes the final stop in its three-game road swing on Wednesday. NU originally was to open at home, but Evergreen State canceled that Aug. 24 contest. NU and Evergreen rescheduled that game for Wednesday, Sept. 8, at NU.

Northwest dropped to 0-2 on the season with a 1-0 loss at St. Martin's on Sunday afternoon. Freshman
Kayla Soderstrom had two shots on goal, while
Olivia Morris,
Callie Wright, and
Anna Lau had one apiece.

Lewis & Clark finished the 2020-21 season at 2-5-1, losing its last four games. The team returns its leading scorer from last season in Brecklyn Beighle. Beighle had five goals and two assists last season. Jezza Hutto, who was the only player with multiple goals, also returns, as does keeper Sophia Young, who allowed 2.07 goals per game.
