Streaking Eagles Head to Oregon this Weekend

KIRKLAND – Northwest makes its first Oregon-bound conference trip this season when they play at Oregon Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and Southern Oregon at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Northwest is 6-3 after its 91-78 win on Saturday against Pacific Lutheran. Lewis Pope had 35 points, and CaCoa Chatman added 20. The Eagles shot 58 percent from the field in general and from three-point range as well. 
 
Pope earned Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week honors after averaging 25.5 points, nine rebounds, and four assists last week in wins at Evergreen State and at home against Pacific Lutheran.
 
The Eagles have won four consecutive games, including three conference victories. During the streak, NU is shooting 48 percent from three-point range and 51 percent from the field overall. Chatman is averaging 21 points, Drew Bryson 19.3, and Pope 16.3.
 
Bryson leads three Eagles in double-figure scoring at 18.3 points per game. Chatman averages 14.8 and Pope 11.9. Those three have combined for 60 three-pointers through nine games. 
 
After receiving votes in the preseason poll, Oregon Tech dropped to 3-6 overall and 0-3 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after an 84-75 loss at Southern Oregon on Saturday. Joey Potts leads the Owls with 14.2 points per game and 28 blocked shots.
 
The Eagles are 11-33 all time against Oregon Tech and have lost the last three meetings, including a 94-75 setback in Klamath Falls last season. The last NU win at Oregon Tech came in the conference quarterfinals in 2019. 
 
Southern Oregon is 4-4 overall and 1-2 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after an 84-75 win at Oregon Tech on Saturday. Atmar Mundu leads the Raiders at 18.3 points per game, and former Eagle Josh Meyer averages 12.1 points, eight rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. 
 
NU is 17-25 in the Southern Oregon rivalry. SOU has a three-game winning streak in the series, including a 63-59 win last year in Ashland. The Eagles have not won in Ashland since 2016.
