KIRKLAND – Northwest looks to get into playoff position with four games this weekend at home against Corban. The teams meet in an 11 pam. triple-header Friday at Bellevue College.
The original schedule of four games was altered due to rain.
Corban is in the middle pack in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings at 5-5, while the Eagles are 2-7.
Northwest enters the week batting .281 as a team. Four Eagles are above that mark:
Livi Lindsey (1-2) at .500,
Emily Barry at .433,
Jordan Dippel at .358, and
Jessica Nunes at .289. Barry's batting average is fifth in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
The Eagles come into the week with a 5.61 team earned run average, led by
Sydney Maurer at 3.78.
Bella King has a team-high 47 innings pitched, and
Becca Rennick leads with 20 strikeouts.
Corban is 32-4 all time against Northwest. The Eagles stopped a 14-game skid in the series last year with a 13-4 win at Corban.
Corban took three of four last weekend at Warner Pacific to improve to 11-14 overall and 5-5 in the league. Corban hits .295 as a team, led by Kaycee Arase at .389. Taylor Beasley leads the team with three home runs and 13 RBIs. Holly Gonzalez leads the pitching staff with a 4-4 record and a 3.68 earned run average. The team carries a 6.01 ERA.
