KIRKLAND – Northwest heads to Portland this weekend to play four Cascade Collegiate Conference games at Warner Pacific.
Doubleheaders begin at 1 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Northwest got a solid pitching performance from
Bella King, who had a complete game with no earned runs, but the Eagles lost 2-1 and 10-2 to Western Washington in a midweek non-conference twin bill.
Kayla Stanley hit her fourth home run of the season in the second game.
Northwest comes into the weekend series with a team batting average of .274, led by
Emily Barry at .390, followed by
Jordan Dippel at .328. Barry and Stanley lead the team with four home runs each. Barry has a team-leading 17 RBIs.
The Eagles are sixth in the Cascade Collegiate Conference with a 4.97 earned run average.
Sydney Maurer leads the team with a 3.90 ERA,
Bella King tops the team with four wins and 56 innings, and
Becca Rennick has a team-leading 23 strikeouts.
The Eagles are 2-5 all time in the short series with Warner Pacific. WPU took two of three from Northwest last season.
Warner Pacific is 2-18 on the season and 1-11 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after losing the four-game series at Carroll last weekend.
The Knights are batting .220 as a team, led by Payton Hergert at .327 and Carrigan Foster at .311.
Emma Foster has been the power source with four home runs and 15 RBIs. NU has an 8.28 team earned run average, led by Carrigan Foster at 5.00.
