Softball to End Regular Season at Bushnell

KIRKLAND – Northwest finishes off the regular season this weekend with a four-game set at Bushnell in Eugene, Ore. Doubleheaders begin at 2 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday.
 
The Eagles keep their playoff hopes alive if they take two of the three Cascade Collegiate Conference games this weekend. A sweep of the Beacons would almost definitely put NU in the postseason. 
 
The Eagles are tied with Corban with 10 wins each. Bushnell and Carroll also are in the hunt for the final two playoff spots, with British Columbia in command with 12 wins. Oregon Tech, Eastern Oregon, Southern Oregon, and College of Idaho have already clinched spots.
 
The Eagles are batting .286 as a team with five every-day starters batting over .300. Jordan Dippel leads the team at .358, followed by Emily Barry at .329, Madisyn Leffle at .324, Kayla Stanley at .314, and Alyssa Maldonado at .303. Barry leads the team with six home runs and 43 RBIs.
 
Northwest carries a 4.94 earned run average into the weekend series. Sydney Maurer leads the team with a 4.44 ERA. Bella King is the wins leader with eight, and Becca Rennick has a team-best 46 strikeouts.
 
Bushnell has an 18-9 lead in the all-time series and took three of four last season in Bellevue.Bushnell comes in at 12-26 overall and 8-14 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Anabel Mendez leads the CCC with a .505 batting average, with Alyssa Ferreira at .406. The Beacons bat .295 as a team. Sam Silver leads the pitching staff with six wins and a 3.84 earned run average. BU has a team ERA of 4.86.
