KIRKLAND – The College Sports Information Directors of America named Northwest's
Ellie Calquhoun as a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection on Thursday for Track and Field and Cross Country.
Â
The award, which requires a 3.3 cumulative grade point average and a significant contribution to the team's success, is voted upon by sports information directors from Washington, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, and Canada.
Â
Calquhoun, a graduate student working on her MBA, qualified on Friday for the finals of the NAIA 3000-meter steeplechase and has run in the last three NAIA Cross Country Championships, twice as an individual.
Â
She earned All-Conference honors in cross country last fall and academic All-Conference recognition throughout her career. In her senior season, she also won NU's Senior Award for Marketing and was inducted into the Delta Mu Honor Society.
Â
As a junior, she earned the Junior Academic Award.
Â
"This honor is a testament to the same hard work she applies in the classroom as she does at practice," said NU Head Coach
Mark Mandi.
