NU Plays First Home Games this Weekend

KIRKLAND – After five consecutive games away from the home pitch, Northwest plays its home opener this weekend with the start of Cascade Collegiate Conference games. The Eagles host 3 p.m. games Friday against Southern Oregon and Saturday against Oregon Tech.
 
The Eagles are 1-6 all time against Southern Oregon, with the Raiders on a five-game win streak in the series. SOU won the last meeting last season in Ashland, 2-1. 
 
NU is 12-7-2 in the series with Oregon Tech. The Owls have won the last three contests in the series, including a 2-1 victory in Klamath Falls last season. 
 
Brayden Corwin had NU's goal last season against Southern Oregon, with Tyler Hopp getting the assist. Adrian Villegas and Joao de Santos had the Raider goals. 
 
Last year's loss at OIT included a goal by Elliot Misic and an assist by Hopp. Arthur Proost and John Sarna had goals for the Owls.
 
Northwest is 2-2-1 on the season after a loss Sunday at No. 10 Dalton State. Max Herrig had NU's goal with an assist from Brayden Corwin.
 
The Eagles have six goals by five different scorers this season, led by Tyler Hopp with two. Max Herrig, Frederik Marten, Noah Prophet, and Jacen Stein have one apiece. 
 
Six Eagles have assists this season. Jacen Stein, Brayden Corwin, Max Herrig, Kyler McIntosh, Elliot Misic, and Freddy Marten have one each.
 
Northwest has allowed eight goals in five games for a 1.60 goals allowed average. Michael Kot leads three NU goalkeepers with a 1.06 goals-allowed average. Kot has one shutout, while David Fulga and Alexander Thiehofe have combined for another.
 
Southern Oregon completed the non-conference portion of its schedule at 3-2 and comes into the weekend off of a 1-0 win over Menlo. Sam Walker paces the Raiders with four goals and nine points. Tybalt Thornberry has a team-leading three assists. Casey Ruvolo leads the team with a 0.40 goals-allowed average.
 
Oregon Tech is 1-0-2 on the season after playing to a 1-1 tie with Menlo on Monday. Hunter Hoogerwerf and Andrew Pasang have two goals each for the Owls. Joel Witts has allowed 1.00 goals per game and has one shutout in goal for OIT.
