Montana Western put together three straight set victories for a 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-19) sweep of Northwest (1-3). Dakota Adams, Amanda Waterman and Lara Linden (Milton, Wash.) each had 7 kills for NU. Brooke Riddle (Spokane, Wash.) and Christina Gleb combined for 35 assists with Riddle leading the way with 23 and Gleb adding 12. Mattie Keltner (Anacortes, Wash.) had 15 digs to lead the Eagles and Amanda Waterman added 13 digs.

Said NU coach Steven Bain, "That was a tough loss but give Montana Western credit because they stayed on task and did what they had to do to close out the match. We are also trying different combinations, so that puts some pressure on our players to maintain their composure and stay connected. In that regard, Mattie Keltner had to step in at libero and was terrific in serve-receive and on defense. Leia (Roy) suffered a knee injury and was relegated to serving but she continued to contribute. We're looking forward to getting back on the court!"

Play concludes tomorrow with Northwest U taking on Westminster College (Utah) and Simpson University (Calif.) to complete tournament play.
