Said NU coach Steven Bain, "That was a tough loss but give Montana Western credit because they stayed on task and did what they had to do to close out the match. We are also trying different combinations, so that puts some pressure on our players to maintain their composure and stay connected. In that regard,
Mattie Keltner had to step in at libero and was terrific in serve-receive and on defense. Leia (Roy) suffered a knee injury and was relegated to serving but she continued to contribute. We're looking forward to getting back on the court!"
Play concludes tomorrow with Northwest U taking on Westminster College (Utah) and Simpson University (Calif.) to complete tournament play.
