KIRKLAND – Northwest entertains Rocky Mountain College on Friday at 3:30 p.m., intending to get a foothold in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
Â
NU (3-4 overall and 0-2 in the CCC) has not played a home game in 41 days and has been the host just once this year. As they did in the pre-conference, the Eagles have started the Cascade Collegiate Conference with two losses. Northwest followed up that pre-CCC slide with an explosive offense and a three-game winning streak.Â
Â
Four different Eagles have played their way into the NAIA's statistical leaderboards this season. Elliot Misic is eighth in the NAIA in shots per goal per game at 3.0 and 46th with 3.8 shots per game. Kyle Han is 18th in the nation with five assists. Jordan Travis is 25th with seven goals, 26th with 1.00 goal per game, 30th with 16 points, and 36th with 2.29 points per game. Dmitry Zorchenko is 35th with four assists.
Â
Northwest has scored in eight consecutive games dating back to last season. The 29 NU goals this season have come from 12 different players. Including Jordan Travis' seven goals, the Eagles have four players with three or more goals. Elliot Misic has five, and Noah Prophet and Justin Harden have three goals each.
Â
Rocky Mountain has won all five matches since 2013, including a 3-1 decision last year in Billings. Payton Gunhus scored NU's only goal against Rocky last season.
Â
RMC is 3-2 overall and 2-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference games after a 15-1 win over Multnomah and a 3-2 victory over Warner Pacific last weekend.Â
Â
Nolan Sherwood is third in the nation with one assist per game. Pablo Ferreira is ninth nationally at 1.4 goals per game. Those two lead the CCC in those categories. In five starts, Kristofer Wennin has 12 saves and a 1.50 goals-against average.
