KIRKLAND – Northwest faces off with Rocky Mountain at 1 p.m. Friday with both teams looking to take sole possession of the top spot in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.

After only two games into the CCC schedule, Friday's combatants in Kirkland are the only two with perfect conference marks.

After losing the first two games of the season, the Eagles have ripped off a six-game winning streak. It is the longest winning streak for Northwest women's soccer since 2014 when NU won nine straight as part of an 11-game unbeaten streak.

The Eagles started Cascade Collegiate Conference action with two road wins last weekend. NU has not won its first two conference road games since beating Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon to start CCC action in 2014.

With three shutouts this season, the Eagles are 41st nationally. Northwest has allowed seven goals in eight games for a remarkable 0.88 goals per game average. Kat Sanchez has two of the shutouts and 28 of NU's 31 saves. Sanchez carries a .920 goals-against average, which is No. 48 in the NAIA. The defenders have done their jobs, allowing under 10 shots per game.

NU's Callie Wright is 30th in the NAIA with seven goals and 35th with 16 points this season. Four Eagles have accounted for NU's 17 goals this season, led by Wright with seven. Rylee Rassier has four goals, followed by Olivia Morris with three and Madison Morrow with two. Five Eagles have collected the team's 12 assists. Morris and Morrow have three apiece, and Wright, Stephanie Wilson, and Sarah Hommas have two each.

NU Head Coach Bryan Chud lacks just one win to catch Erin Redwine for the school record for coaching wins in women's soccer. Redwine finished with 46 wins over seven seasons. Chud got his 45th career win on Sunday against Carroll.

Lauryn Gamache, a senior forward for RMC, is nationally 16th in shots on goal per game (3.4), 23rd in goals per game (1.00) and points per game (2.6), 41st in assists per game (0.6), and 46th in shots per game (4.4). Gamache also scored a goal and had two assists in RMC's 3-2 win over Northwest in Billings.

The Battlin' Bears average 15 shots per game, which is 15th among NAIA schools.

Maia Wetzel has three shutouts in goal and a 1.29 goals-against average.

Rocky is on a four-game winning streak after taking down Multnomah and Warner Pacific in Billings last weekend.
