KIRKLAND – Northwest plays Corban in a pair of 1 p.m. contests Sunday and Monday that could make a big impact on the West Division of the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
Northwest leads the West Division with 10 points and a 3-0-1 record, followed by Oregon Tech and Corban at eight points each and with matching 3-1 records after splitting their series at Corban last week. With no postseason conference tournament, the winner of each division will claim the league's two automatic NAIA berths.
The Northwest-Corban series has been a close one the last few years. There have been two ties, an overtime loss, and three other one-goal margins among the last nine contests. Corban leads the all-time series 7-6-2.
The Eagles claimed a 2-0 win last year in Kirkland when now-assistant coach
Rylee Rassier scored two goals.
Olivia Morris and
Callie Wright had assists.
NU is coming off a 5-0 win at Warner Pacific.

Maya Lewis also had assists.
Northwest has not allowed a goal in the last four games. The Eagles had a five-game shutout streak last season.
Kierstin Patefield has a 410-minute scoreless streak in goal.
Corban is 3-2 overall and 3-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after splitting two games with Oregon Tech last week. Juliana Pires leads the Warriors with five goals and 11 points. Maria-Frances Serrant had a team-leading three assists. Devan Archer has played all 450 minutes in goal with a 0.80 goals-against average and 18 saves.
