Eagles Host Portland Foes This Weekend

KIRKLAND – Northwest returns to the Kristi Brodin Pavilion this weekend to host Warner Pacific and Multnomah in 7 p.m. games on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
 
The Eagles started the second half of the Cascade Collegiate Conference season with a 3-1 win at Evergreen State. The win improves NU to 10-10 overall and 6-6 in the CCC. Kaitlyn Mickle had 19 kills and Karste Wright and Abi Broussard added 15 each. Anna Saelens had 37 assists and Kelsey Moore had 22 digs.
 
Broussard leads the Eagles with 2.99 kills per set with 233 kills and a .343 attack percentage. She is second in total kills and attack percentage in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Karste Wright averages 2.41 kills and Mickle 2.13. 
 
Moore tops the Eagles with 433 digs and a 5.48 digs per set average. Caitlyn James averages 2.09 digs per set. Moore leads the Cascade Collegiate Conference in both total digs and digs per set. She is seventh in the NAIA in total digs and 15th in digs per set.
 
NU is 28-7 against the Knights after sweeping the Knights in Portland last month. NU has won the last 15 matches in the WPU series.
 
In the previous match at Warner Pacific, Reece Denney and Lunday led NU with five kills apiece, with Broussard and Sparks contributing four each. Harter had 10 assists. NU posted nine aces in the match, led by James with four, with Broussard and Moore adding two each. Moore had 11 digs, and James added nine. Sparks had a big day at the net with four solo blocks and three block assists. Broussard was in on three blocks.
 
Warner Pacific is 1-10 both overall and in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Knights are on a three-match slide and are 0-7 on the road this season. Tevlin Britton leads WPU with 2.31 kills per set. Sabah Mohammady leads the squad with 3.56 digs per set.
 
The Eagles are 13-0 all time against Multnomah and scored a 3-1 win over the Lions in Portland. 
 
Last month at Multnomah, Broussard led NU with 14 points on 12 kills and a pair of aces. Denney added eight kills, four aces, and a block. Anna Saelens led NU with 11 assists. Broussard had a .417 attack percentage. Moore racked up 31 digs, and Morgan Harter added 13. 
 
Multnomah has a 2-9 overall and Cascade Collegiate Conference record. They play at Evergreen State on Friday, heading in on a two-game losing streak. Danae Stokes leads the Lions with a 2.22 kills per set average. Lauren Porter averages 4.43 digs per set.
