Beach Splits Day 2 in Arizona

MESA, AZ - The Northwest University beach volleyball team earned its first win of 2024 today in Arizona. In a rematch against Park University Gilbert, the Eagles took the match 3-2. The Eagles followed with a 1-4 loss to Arizona Christian University.

Leading the Eagles in the number one spot, Caitlyn James and Carlee Rowell took their game in two sets. Kylie Rankins and Sydney Faber won in two, as well as Brynn Keeling and Charlize Katz.

James and Rowell were the only pair to take a game off of Arizona Christian.

Head Coach Hannah Lord says, "Today was a great day of volleyball. The team was excited for a rematch against Park. They executed the game plan well and were able to implement the changes we had discussed. In our second game of the day didn't get the results we wanted, but we were able to adapt and adjust to stay in every game. We did a lot of good things but weren't able to make the plays when the games were on the line. I'm hopeful that we can use this as a learning experience and put ourselves in better spots to win the games tomorrow."

The Eagles will wrap up their first trip of the year tomorrow morning in Mesa, AZ, with a match against Park University Gilbert at 9 am followed by Benedictine University Mesa at 11 am.
