KIRKLAND, Wash. – Following a strong season on the sand, the Northwest University Beach Volleyball program was recognized by the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) for its character and competitive spirit. The Eagles were named recipients of the Athletic Solutions Team Sportsmanship Award, while the No. 1 pair of Kylie Rankins and Rylie Hangca earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.
The Sportsmanship Award highlights teams that compete with integrity, respect, and strong character throughout the season. The recognition reflects the culture the Eagles have continued to build within the program and the way the team represents Northwest University both on and off the court.
Northwest's leadership and teamwork were also on display through the play of Rankins and Hangca. Competing as the Eagles' No. 1 pair throughout the season, the duo consistently faced the top competition in the conference and showed resilience, determination, and strong partnership on the sand.
Head Coach Meng Bak praised the team and the pair for the example they set throughout the season. "We're incredibly proud of our team for earning the Athletic Solutions Sportsmanship Award, which reflects the culture, character, and respect our program strives to represent every day. Kylie Rankins and Rylie Hangca have been a joy to coach all season. As our No. 1 pair, they compete with toughness, work relentlessly, and consistently put their partner first. I'm especially proud of the way they support and treat one another on the beach, because that sets the standard for the culture we want at Northwest University. Their All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition is well deserved, and they truly embody the mindset we preach: 'How can I become the best partner on the beach?'"
The postseason honors mark a meaningful close to the Eagles' season, highlighting not only their competitive success but also the strong character and team culture that continues to define the Northwest beach volleyball program.
