KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University Athletics has announced the hiring of Adam Lynch as the new head coach of the Eagles men's basketball program.
Lynch is no stranger to Northwest, having served as an assistant coach with the program since 2022. Now stepping into the head coaching role, he brings nearly three decades of coaching experience along with a deep commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court.
Lynch brings 29 years of coaching experience, including eight years at the collegiate level and 14 years as a varsity high school boys head coach. In addition to his coaching background, he has spent 27 years working in Christian education, building programs that emphasize character, faith, and leadership.
Athletic Director Gary McIntosh says, "I've had some great conversations with Adam, and he is a tremendous fit for Northwest University. Adam not only understands our program and our players, but he also embraces the mission and values that define who we are as a university. I'm excited to see him build on Coach Skeen's foundation as we continue to grow both spiritually and competitively."
Throughout his career, Lynch has focused on creating competitive, Christ-centered programs that support the holistic development of student-athletes: spiritually, academically, and athletically. His leadership philosophy aligns closely with Northwest University's mission of integrating faith and athletics while pursuing excellence in competition.
Beyond the court, Lynch is also the founder of Hoops4Him, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to youth basketball programming with a ministry-focused mission. Through Hoops4Him, he has helped provide opportunities for young athletes to grow in both their basketball skills and their faith.
Having already been a part of the Northwest basketball staff for the past four seasons, Lynch understands the culture of the program and the values that guide Eagles' athletics.
Adam Lynch remarks on being named head coach: "I'm incredibly grateful to President Jeremy Johnson, Vice President Rick Engstrom, and Athletic Director Gary McIntosh for their trust and belief in me. Northwest University is a special place, and it's been a privilege to serve here over the last four years.
"I've appreciated the opportunity to work alongside and learn from Coach Skeen. I'm excited to build on the strong foundation that's been established. Our goal is to develop men of character, compete at a high level, and represent this university with pride. I can't wait to get to work with our players and continue moving this program forward."
Northwest University Athletics looks forward to the continued growth of the men's basketball program under Lynch's leadership as the Eagles prepare for the upcoming season.
