Box Score EUGENE, Ore. – A quick first half start would help propel the NU Eagles to a 68-56 Cascade Conference win over Northwest Christian tonight.
The Eagles sprinted out to a 24-9 in the early going as consecutive 3-pointers by Olivia VanDlac and Sanda Milovic would help give NU the 15 point margin. NCU would then outscore the Eagles 15-4 to cut their lead to four points, 28-24 with 2 minutes left in the half, but Chanara Greene would score in the paint and Milovic would hit another trey to increase the NU lead to 33-24 with 1:10 left until halftime. The Beacons' Andrea Gloss would nail a three pointer with 43 seconds to go as NU would lead 33-27 at the half.
Northwest would start fast again in the second half and go on an 11-0 run to start the period to take a 44-27 lead with 5 minutes gone in the game. The Eagles would maintain the lead the rest of the way as the closest NCU would get would be 9 on two occasions, but each time, the Eagles would answer to increase their lead to double digits.
Domi Medezona led Northwest U. (9-4, 2-1 CCC) with 13 points and 6 assists followed by Sanda Milovic's 12 points and 6 rebounds. Chanara Greene contributed 10 points and added 7 rebounds as the Eagles shot 41% for the night (22-54) and hit 76% of their free throws (16-21). NU also held a big margin in the rebounding column at 50-32.
Northwest Christian (5-7, 0-2 CCC) was led by Allie Kelsey's 22 points. Andrea Gloss added 11 points as the Beacons hit 35% of their shots, but went 6 of 16 from the free throw line for 37% shooting.

The Eagles now travel north to Salem and will take on Corban tomorrow night at 5:30 in more CCC play before returning to Kirkland.
