Playoffs Bound: Eagles Clinch Post Season Spot with 62-55 Win Over Warner Pacific

KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Northwest University women's basketball team secured a spot in the postseason Saturday afternoon with a 62-55 conference victory over Warner Pacific University. The Eagles finish conference play with a 6-14 record and will compete in the upcoming conference tournament.

The win marks an important milestone for the program, as Northwest battled through a competitive conference schedule to earn its place in postseason play. The Eagles showed resilience throughout the year, continuing to compete and improve as the season progressed.

Head coach Randy Edens reflected on the accomplishment and the direction of the program. "I had 2 BIG goals for this group and that was double digit wins and a playoff spot. We have accomplished those and that makes this week so much fun. We have the youngest roster in the league and for us to make that sort of impact in terms of growth and our focus on the process — we feel like things are trending in the right direction.

Our league is so tough. I think we will get 5 if not 6 teams into the National Tournament and while night in and night out you have to be prepared to compete at a high level, we really like how the bracket broke out as well. We have played Corban tough, in fact, up 3 with about a minute to go at their place earlier in the season, some success with Oregon Tech and our most difficult matchups are on the other side. Ultimately, we wanted to get here for the sake of our youth, lay the groundwork for the experience and see where things go this week for even bigger things down the road. We can't wait for the opportunity this weekend."

Northwest will compete in the conference quarterfinal on February 27th, at Salem, Oregon against Corban University. Tipoff at 5 PM PST.
