Eagles Fall to Hot Shooting EOU

Box Score LA GRANDE, Ore. – Northwest University ran into a hot shooting Eastern Oregon team tonight and fell to the Mountaineers 94-49. EOU shot 63% for the game and hit 75% of their shots in a 55 point second half to post the Cascade Conference win.

NU would take an earl 4-3 lead, but Eastern Oregon would then heat up and outscore the Eagles 22-4 over 9 minutes to take a commanding 25-8 lead with 8:36 left in the half. With EOU leading 34-13 with 6:03 left in the half, the Eagles would reel off a 6-0 run as Charmaine Bradford's jumper would make it a 34-19 game, but two Kassy Larson jumpers at the end of the period would give the Mounties a 20 point, 39-19 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Jordan Asher would hit a 3-pointer to help the Eagles close wo within 17, 49-32 at the 15>46 mark, but EOU's shooting would heat up and they would soon grow their lead to 73-37 after Kassy Larson would hit another jumper with 10:46 left in the game.  NU could do nothing to cool down the hot shooting of Eastern Oregon as they would go on to post their 8th victory and improve to 2-0 in league play.

Chanara Greene was the only Eagle in double figures with 10 points with Charmaine Bradford and Hannah Carlson each scoring 8 for NU (6-3, 1-1 CCC). The Eagles hit 21 of 60 shots for 35% and only 3 of 16 from beyond the 3-point arc for 19%.

Kassy Larson and Airashay Rogers both scored 15 points for Eastern Oregon (8-3, 2-0 CCC). Nikki Osborne and Jordan Klebaum each added  12 points for the Mounties who also hit 47% of their 3-point attempts. EOU won the rebounding battle with a 42-30 advantage.

Said Ken Crawford, NU head coach, "It was a tough loss against a very good Eastern Oregon team tonight. Just the ups and downs of a young team learning how to play together. We're excited about what's happening and looking forward to getting back out on the court again."

NU returns to Kirkland and will travel to Pacific Lutheran and Seattle Pacific next week.
