Eagles Defeat Knights, Earn 18th Win

Box Score KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University turned away a second rally by Warner Pacific to post a 64-60 Cascade Conference win and earn their 18th victory of the season.
 
Northwest would take the lead 7 minutes into the first half breaking an 11-11 tie and with 4:25 left in the half, Alyssa Dario's two free throws would put the Eagles up 29-17. Warner Pacific would cut the NU lead to 10 on three occasions as Jordan Wilcox's 3-pointer with 28 seconds left would give Northwest a 36-26 halftime lead.
 
In the second half, the Eagles would maintain their lead over the Knights and lead by 10, 44-34 with 13:02 showing on the clock. WPC would then begin to whittle down the Eagles lead with a 15-6 run and Kristen Swim's lay-in at the 8:53 mark would make it a one point game, 50-49. Warner Pac would take the lead 57-56 after a Jordan Wilcox drive and lay-in, but NU's Domi Mendezona would come through with a big 3-pointer to give the Eagles the lead back for good. Jacki Cannon's score at the buzzer wouldn't be enough as NU would earn their 18th win of the season.
 
Chanara Greene led Northwest U (18-10, 10-6 CCC) with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Jordan Asher and Domi Mendezona each added 11 points. NU shot 33% for the night but held a big edge on rebounding, 48-37, including 19 offensive rebounds. The Eagles struggled from the 3-point line hitting only 4 of 22 attempts for 14% shooting for the night.
 
Warner Pacific (6-20, 2-13 CCC) was led by Jordan Wilcox and her 16 points. Kristen Swim contributed 15 points and 8 rebounds for the Knights. The Knights were aided by 45% shooting in their second half comeback, but managed just 23% from beyond the 3-point arc.
