NU Falls to No. 21 Oregon Tech

Box Score KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – No. 21 Oregon Tech pulled away in the second half to defeat the NU Eagles, 72-52 tonight on Danny Miles Court.

Northwest U led ten minutes into the first half after two free throws by Domi Mendezona would make it 19-14. Rabekah Matteri would pull the Owls to within one, 21-20, with 9:27 on the clock and would take the lead for the rest of the half on McKensey Peters free throws with 1:55 to go. 3-pointers by OIT's Tess Armstrong and Ashleigh Vanderbrink would increase the Owl lead to 37-30 and after NU's Alivia Johnson's jumper Karissa Dixon would hit two free throws with one second to go to give OIT a 39-32 lead going into halftime.

NU would keep the game close most of the second half, but with 8:40 to go in the game, Ashleigh Vanderbrink would sink two free throws to give OIT an 8 point, 48-40, lead. Tech would grow their lead to 13 after Rebekah Matteri's jumper, 53-40, with 6:53 showing on the clock. As NU's shooting would continue to go cold, OIT would take their largest lead of the game at 68-46 with after two free throws with 2:47 left in the game as the Owls would improve to 22-5 and dropping Northwest U to 16-10.

Sanda Milovic led Northwest U (16-10, 8-6 CCC) with 10 points. Jordan Asher and Alyssa Dario each scored 9 for the Eagles who shot just 24% for the night and hit 19 of 29 free throws for 65%. Chanara Greene led NU with 6 rebounds.

Oregon Tech (22-5, 10-5 CCC) was led by Ashleigh Vanderbrink's 17 points while Kassi Conditt dropped in 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the double-double. Karissa Dixon added 12 for the Owls who shot 35% on the night and made 81% of their free throws (22-27).

"It was another tough game for us on this road trip," said NU head coach, Ken Crawford. "We continue to learn about the high level of play needed to compete in this conference. We'll get back to practice and prepare for our games next weekend."

The Eagles will return to Kirkland for their final homestand of the season next Friday and Saturday when they host Concordia and Warner Pacific in the NU Pavilion.
