Box Score SALEM, Ore. – Corban opened up a43-22 halftime lead as they defeated the NU Eagles 71-54, tonight in conference play.

First half foul trouble hurt the Eagles a Paige Burson and Charmaine Bradford picked up their second fouls in the first 7 minutes of the half. The game was tied 10-10 at the 13:51 mark when Burson picked up her second foul and Bradford was whistled for her second. Corban would then go on a 13-2 run to increase their lead to 23-12 with 11 minutes left in the half. Jenna Lewis would cut the Warrior led to seven, 24-17, with 9:53 on the clock, but Corban would outscore the Eagles 19-5 to lead at the half, 43-22.

Corban would continue to increase their lead in the second leading by as many as 27 points. NU would outscore the Warriors 11 to 3 in the final 2:36 to make it a 71-54 final as Jordan Asher would hit two 3-pointers, and Jenna Lewis would score on a jumper and trey to end the game.

Lewis had her best outing for Northwest U (10-10, 3-7 CCC) since returning from an illness with 14 points to lead the Eagles. Charmaine Bradford scored 10 points while Jordan Asher added 9 points and 8 assists. Kalee Fowler and Emily Henderson each scored 7 points for the Eagles. NU shot 35 percent for the game.

Corban (13-9, 7-3 CCC) was led by Payton Wilcox's 16 points and 7 rebounds. Tara Van Weerdhuizen added 14 points for the Warriors who shot 41 percent but only 25 percent from the 3-point line (4-16). The taller Corban team held a 47-30 edge on the rebounding.

Said NU head coach, Ken Crawford following the game, "We continue to learn. I'm very happy with our young players who are definitely learning on the job."

NU will now travel to Eugene to take on Northwest Christian tomorrow night in more Cascade Conference play. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
