Box Score KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Megan Whetstone hit a jumper with 10 seconds to go to help lift Oregon Tech a come-from-behind, 61-58, Cascade Conference win. OIT had trailed the final 7 minutes of the game as Whetstone hit the game winner in the final seconds.
The two teams battled back and forth for most of the first half through five ties and four lead changes.
Charmaine Bradford hit two free throws with 2:51 left in the half to give Northwest U a 23-22 lead, but Brittany Garrett jumper would help OIT regain the lead, 24-23, with 2:32 showing on the clock. Tess Armstrong would make it a 29-25 game with her jumper with 29 seconds on the clock, but
Kalee Fowler would hit a big 3-pointer with 8 seconds left to close the gap to 29-28 as the half would end.
In the second half, two Bradford free throws would tie the game at 44-44 at the 8:11 mark and
Chanara Greene would give NU the lead, 46-44, with her two free throws with 7:31 remaining as the Eagles would maintain the lead. With NU leading 58-57 with 30 seconds left on the clock, NU's
Charmaine Bradford would miss two free throws setting up Whetstones' heroics. OIT called a time out with 12 seconds to go and Whetstone knocked down the jumper with 10 seconds to go. NU called a timeout and turned the ball over with 5 seconds on the clock. Carrie Thibault would hit two free throws to close out the game in the final 3 seconds.
Chanara Greene led Northwest U (9-7, 2-4 CCC) with a double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Greene hit 11 of 13 from the free throw line. Freshman guard,
Charmaine Bradford, dropped in 16 points and handed out 4 assists.
Kalee Fowler came off the bench to contribute 6 points missing three players from their line-up due to injury and illness.
Oregon Tech's (15-4, 4-3 CCC) Ashleigh Vandenbrink led the Owls with 13 points and teammate Megan Whetstone scoring 10. OIT shot 28 percent for the game and had a slight 43-42 edge on the rebounding.

NU now heads to Ashland and will take on No. 16 ranked Southern Oregon tomorrow night at 5:30 p.m.
