Eagles Cap Season and Senior Night with a Victory

Jordan Asher led the way with 17 points in the Eagles final game.
Box Score KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University held off the College of Idaho for a 52-46 Cascade Conference win on the final night of regular season play. It was also senior night for two NU seniors, Chanara Greene and Jenna Lewis.
 
In a low scoring first half the teams would battle back and forth and the period would see five ties. Northwest U got the upper hand early as they took an 18-9 lead seven minutes in. But the Yotes would outscore the Eagles 12-3 over the next eight minutes to tie the score at 21-21 after a single free throw by Jamiece Yizar at the 5:47 mark. NU would then score four points in three minutes as Paige Burson would put the Eagles up 25-21 with 2:19 left in the half. Elisha Hensey would hit two free throws followed by a 3-pointer with 14 seconds on the clock to tie the score once again at 27-all. Jenna Lewis would hit one of two free throws at the end of the half to give NU the narrow one point, 28-27 lead at the break.
 
The second half would be as tightly contested as the first with three ties five minutes into the final half.  C of I would break a 32-32 tie on Brittany Worth's lay-up and the Yotes would go on a 10-5 run to lead 42-37 after a trey by Worth (11:18). After three lead changes, Northwest U would regain the lead, 45-44, with 3:44 to go in the game. NU would outscore the College of Idaho 8-2 the remainder of the way as Jenna Lewis would seal the win with two free throws with 16 seconds remaining.
 
Junior Jordan Asher led the Eagles (12-17, 4-14 CCC) hitting 50 percent of her shots (5-10) for a game high 17 points. Kristen Frey led NU in rebounding with 12 and Chanara Greene finished with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Northwest U held the edge on rebounding with a 47-44 margin. NU managed 32 percent shooting.
 
The College of Idaho 98-19, 7-11 CCC) was led by Elisha Hensey's 15 points and 9 rebounds and Brittany Worth hit 6 of 10 shots for 15 points. C of I went cold in the second half shooting 24 percent and just 27 percent for the game.
