Eagle Too Much for the Wolves

Hannah Carlson led the Eagles with 17 points tonight
Box Score KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University won their third straight game in defeating Walla Walla University, 96-33, in Cascade Conference play tonight. The Eagles had four players score in double figures led by Hannah Carlson's 17 points and 7 rebounds.

It would be Northwest U leading the entire way tonight as they ended the first quarter with a 23-4 margin which ended with Carlson's three point play with 33 seconds left on the clock.

A Miranda Langenhorst block at one end of the court would lead to her scoring four straight points in the paint to increase the Eagle lead to 37-6 at 4:48 in the second quarter. A steal and lay-in by Kalee Fowler with 8 seconds left on the clock would make it 53-10 at halftime.

Walla Walla's shooting would improve in the second half, but the deficit would be too much to overcome as Northwest U would post their 10th victory of the season. Christina Thermidor helped the Wolves scoring with 10 of her 12 points coming in the second half.

Northwest U (10-11, 5-6 CCC) got 16 points from freshman Miranda Langenhorst, 13 from Kalee Fowler, and 11 points and 8 assists from Jordan Asher. Brianna Fiso led the Eagles in rebounding with 11 and sophomore guard, Charmaine Bradford handed out 7 assists. NU totaled 33 assists for the night, a season high and grabbed 63 rebounds, another season high.

Christina Thermidor led Walla Walla (0-15, 0-8 CCC) with 16 points and 6 rebounds with Kassidy Kuykendall scoring 8 points. Lauren Pernu led the Wolves in assists with 4 for the night.

"For the second night in a row, we were pleased with the team effort," said Ken Crawford, NU head coach. "There were a lot of chances for all of our players to gain experience and improve for the big push as we enter the second half of the season. 33 assists meant we shared the ball and played unselfishly and 63 rebounds was a result of getting in there and battling for the ball."
