Eagles Come Back to Defeat Warner Pacific

Box Score KIRKLAND, Wash. – After falling behind by nine points in the opening quarter, Northwest University outscored Warner Pacific the next three periods to post a 66-48 Cascade Conference victory to improve to 2-0 in league play.
 
Warner Pacific came out hitting 5 of 8 shots in the first quarter while Northwest U went 2 for 9 as the Knights opened up a 10-4 lead. WPC would continue to shoot well and maintain the lead and Kyeli Hendryx lay-up with 15 seconds left on the clock would give WPC a 20-11 lead as the first quarter would end. In the second period it would be the Eagles heating up and going on a 12-2 run to start the period as they would take a 23-22 lead after Katie Rozumny's jumper. The Eagles would hold on to the lead the remainder of the period to take a 30-27 lead at the half.
 
The third period would see the Eagles stretching their lead to 13 points on another Rozumny basket making it a 50-37 game with 2:16 left in the quarter. In the fourth quarter, Kalee Fowler would give Northwest U their largest lead of the game, 57-37, with 6:49 left in the game with two free throws. NU would maintain that lead the remainder of the game as they would post their seventh win of the season.
 
Katie Rozumny led Northwest U (7-5, 2-0 CCC) with 13 points. Three players would score 11 points: Hannah Carlson, Charmaine Bradford an Paige Burson. Carlson added 10 rebounds for a double-double while Bradford had a team high 5 assists. NU shot 41 per cent for the game, but managed just 2 of 16 from the 3-point line for 13 per cent.
 
Warner Pacific (2-7, 0
-2 CCC) was led by Kyeli Hendryx's 19 points and 11 rebounds. Bailey Allen and Chanel Celis each scored 7 points for the Knights who shot 30 per cent for the game. WPC out rebounded Northwest U 46-43 with 17 offensive rebounds.
