Box Score KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech (RV) held the Northwest U to 30 per cent shooting as they handed the Eagles their first conference loss, 69-48, this afternoon on Danny Miles Court.

The Owls shot 42 per cent as they would build a 40-29 first half lead. NU would take a 7 point, 11-4,  lead at the 7:03 mark after Charmaine Bradford would sink two free throws, but OIT would come back to go on an 11-2 run to take a 15-13 lead on a 3-pointer. NU would tie the game twice in the final 2 minutes, but Nohea Waiwaiole's jumper with 6 seconds to go would give the Owls a 19-17 lead at the buzzer.

Jackie Bento would tie the game at 19-all five seconds into the second quarter, but a 16-1 Owl run would stretch their lead to 35-20 with 5:13 to go in the half. NU would recover to cut the Tech lead to 11 three times and Victoria Makin's jumper with 25 seconds to go would give OIT a 40-29 halftime lead.

After OIT built a 43-29 lead early in the third quarter, NU would go on a 7-0 run to cut the lead to seven, 43-36 on a three point play by Hannah Carlson. But, that would be the closest the Eagles would get as Oregon Tech would get an 11-2 burst to increase the margin to 54-38 to lead at the end of the period. The Eagles would pull to within 10 points, 54-44, after a Hannah Carlson jumper, but Tech would again slowly pull away for the victory.

Hannah Carlson led Northwest U (8-6, 3-1 CCC) with 14 points while Charmaine Bradford scored 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. As the Eagles were ice cold from the 3-point line hitting just two of 12 attempts for 17 per cent, 0 for 4 in the second half.

Oregon Tech (9-4, 2-1 CCC) had four players in double figures led by Morgan Ili-Roberts with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Bailey Nelson added 13 points and 8 rebounds with teammate Nohea Waiwaiole chipping in 12 points and 7 rebounds. OIT's strong rebounding was one of the keys to game as they grabbed 54 boards to the Eagles' 37.

Said NU coach, Ken Crawford, "It was a tough loss today. We played hard, but were unable to overcome a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter. We continue to learn, and we will have to do it quickly as we play a good Southern Oregon team within the next 24 hours."

NU now makes the drive west to Ashland to take on No. 4 ranked Southern Oregon tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m.
