Box Score VALLEJO, Calif. – The Northwest University women broke out early in the first quarter as they posted an 80-55 victory over Cal State University Maritime in the final game of the Cal Maritime Classic tonight.
The Eagles would force eight turnovers with the help of five steals in the first quarter as they would break out to a 15-6 lead at the end of the period. NU would continue to keep the pressure on and outscore the Keelhaulers 23-15 in the second quarter to take a 38-21 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Cal Maritime would be unable to make up any ground in the second half as the Eagles would put up 42 points to 34 for CSUM as the Eagles would post their sixth win of the season. NU was aided by 48 per cent shooting from the field and a 25-11 margin in rebounding. Sophomore post Miranda Langenhorst sat out tonight's game with an injury.
Guard Katie Rozumny, playing in a three guard offense tonight, scored 24 points hitting 8 of 9 shots and grabbing 6 rebounds to lead Northwest U (6-4). Freshman Jackie Bento picked up the slack in the post, coming off the bench to score 15 points and grab 4 rebounds. Hannah Carlson dropped in 10 and pulled down 9 boards.
For Cal Maritime (0-11) Amber Herrly led the way with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Kynnidi Ricardo scored 12 points and had a game high 6 assists for the Keelhaulers. NU's defense held CSUM to 29 per cent shooting on the night, 31 per cent from the 3-point line.

NU will return home to host Linfield College of Oregon on Tuesday night at 5:30 p.m. in the NU Pavilion.
