In the first half, NU stayed close as EOU would take a slim, 16-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. Kristen Frey's 3-pointer just 21 seconds into the second quarter would make it a one point game at 16-15. The turning point in the game would be EOU's fast start in the third quarter as they would score the first 7 points of the period to boost their lead to 14, 42-28 at the 6:49 mark. A 3-pointer by Eastern Oregon's Payton Parrish would push the Mounties' lead to 23 points, 53-30 at 2:58. A pair of free throws by Kristen Frey and one by Fiso would make it a 53-37 game with 32 seconds in the quarter as EOU would score the final basket with 6 seconds left to lead 55-37 as the buzzer would sound.

The Eagles would give a good effort to cut into the EOU lead in the final period, but each time NU would score, the Mountaineers would find a way to answer. Miranda Langenhorst's jumper at 3:39 would make it a 67-43 game, but that would be the closest NU would get as Eastern Oregon would post the quarterfinal victory.

Brianna Fiso scored 19 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in her final game for Northwest U (15-16 overall) and Kristen Frey scored 12 and pulled down 7 rebounds for the Eagles. Miranda Langenhorst scored 10 points with 7 rebounds and Jordan Asher led the team with 8 assists. NU shot 37 percent for the game and managed just 17 percent from the 3-point line (2-12).

Leading scorers for Eastern Oregon (21-9) were Jordan Klebaum with 22 points, Madeline Laan with 21 points and Payton Parrish finished with 14 points. Laan added 6 assists to lead the Mountaineers and Nikki Osborne had 9 rebounds for a game high. EOU held a 44-35 edge on the rebounding, but NU's defense forced 21 turnovers.

"It was a good effort tonight against a good Eastern Oregon team," commented NU coach Ken Crawford. "We made some mistakes that hurt us and we did not shoot the ball as well as we wanted to. However, I could not be prouder of these young women who play for Northwest University and especially our three seniors who worked so hard and provided great leadership the whole season. Thanks to everyone for their support all year!"

The Eagles lose three solid seniors in Asher, Fiso and Frey, but return a solid core of younger players including three juniors, six sophomores, and three freshman with a full season of experience. Thank you to the outstanding seniors and to the entire team for a good season and representing the university in such an outstanding manner!
