Eagles Fly Over NCU From Outside

Kalee Fowler came off the bench to score 13 points tonight
Box Score KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University hit 11 of 24 from 3-point range tonight as they defeated Northwest Christian (RV), 72-59. Playing the second straight game without starting point guard, Charmaine Bradford, Katie Rozumny and Kalee Fowler combined for 6 for 11 beyond the 3-point line to help lift NU to victory.
 
Leading 39-31 at halftime, Northwest U heated up in the third quarter from outside. Leading by four, 42-38, with 5:10 left in the period, NU would outscore the Beacons 14-1 to increase their lead to 17, 56-39 with 1:20 on the clock. NCU would score the final three points of the quarter making it 56-42 as the buzzer would sound.
 
An 8-0 run by NCU to start the 4th quarter would cut the Eagle lead to six, 56-50, after a Jenna Christenson trey. But that would be the closest the Beacons would come as a 7-0 run by Northwest U would increase their lead to 63-50 with 6:05 on the clock, and they would maintain the lead the remainder of the game.
 
Mariah Stacona led the Eagles (12-15, 7-10 CCC) with 16 points including four 3-pointers. Paige Burson scored 14 points and pulled down 9 rebounds with Kalee Fowler coming off the bench to score 13. NU shot 47 per cent for the game, 46 per cent from the 3-point line. NU had a 43-22 advantage in rebounding.
 
Northwest Christian (15-8, 12-4 CCC) was led by Jeni Hoffert's 23 points with Katerina Brejchova scoring 13 with 6 rebounds. NCU shot 39 per cent for the game and 71 per cent from the free throw line.
 
"It was a great game tonight as the Lady Eagles went against a strong Northwest Christian team," said Ken Crawford, NU head coach. "I really like what we are doing as a team and look forward to seeing everyone out for senior night next Saturday."
