KIRKLAND – Northwest hits the road for the first time Friday, taking on Lewis and Clark College in Portland at 6 p.m.

The Eagles defeated Lewis and Clark 64-58 in Portland last season, getting 19 points from Andie Kristinat and 15 from Alyx Fast. Sam Van Loo had nine points and eight rebounds. LCC's Delsie Johnson had 18 points and 16 rebounds in that game.

Northwest's Livi Lindsey is second in NAIA Division II with 6.0 steals per game. She had nine in the season opener against Salish Kootenai and three against Montana Tech. Lindsey had 23 steals last season.

NU is 48th in the nation with 7.5 three-pointers per game. Ellesse FitzGerald gets a lot of credit for that stat. She is 10th nationally with 3.5 three-pointers per game. Fitzgerald is shooting at 46.7 percent from the three-point line.

The Eagles are No. 9 in the nation in offensive rebounding, despite having no one in the national top 50 individually. Ninety percent of the players who have logged minutes have at least one offensive rebound. Van Loo and Kristinat lead with six each, and Shelaine Lorenz has five.

Lindsey and FitzGerald lead the Eagles in scoring at 14 and 13.5 points per game, respectively.

Lewis and Clark opens the season with the Eagles but lost an exhibition game at NCAA Division I Portland Saturday, 92-30. Hannah Martin had nine points, and Delsie Johnson led with five rebounds. The Pioneers were 2-23 last season with wins over Evergreen State and Linfield.
