KIRKLAND – Northwest begins Cascade Collegiate Conference action this weekend in women's basketball with Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech visiting for 5:30 p.m. games Friday and Saturday.

The Eagles dipped to 1-6 on the season after a 63-61 loss at Linfield Tuesday. Northwest got 17 points from freshman
Maya DuChesne, and Sam Van Loo added 14 rebounds.

The Eagles have lost 15 consecutive games in the series with Southern Oregon, dating back to the 2011-12 season when Northwest won 81-71 in 2012. Sam Van Loo scored 18 points against SOU in Kirkland last season in a 79-72 loss. Syd Fryer had 19 points and 12 rebounds for SOU.Â

Van Loo leads the team with 10.9 points per game, with three other players scoring eight or more points per contest. DuChesne averages 9.4, Lexi Biggerstaff gets 8.9, and Ellesse FitzGerald checks in at 8.3.

Van Loo leads the Eagles with 7.9 rebounds per game, including a team-best 24 offensive rebounds and 31 defensive boards. Northwest is 35
th in NAIA Division II in offensive rebounds with 14.4 per game. Livi Lindsey has 12 offensive rebounds, and Andi Kristinat has 10 this season.

Lindsey leads the Eagles with 17 steals this season. She averages 2.4 steals per game.Â

Southern Oregon is 4-3 this season after scoring a 76-45 win over Park (Arizona) on Nov. 23. Dominique Harding leads the Raiders with 12 points and seven rebounds per game. Kenadee Honaker averages 3.4 steals per game and shares the team lead with 18 assists. SOU gets 14.6 steals per game and is ninth nationally in that category.Â

Oregon Tech has a 12-game win streak against NU, including a 64-54 win in Kirkland last season. Van Loo had 18 points in that loss for NU, while Bailey Nelson led the Owls with 16.

Oregon Tech rolls into the weekend at 5-4 after dominating Pacific Union 70-29 Sunday. Amanda Constant leads the Owls at 10.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Eastyn Reeves averages 3.1 assists, and Melissa Lee grabs 2.4 steals per game. OIT is sixth nationally in limiting opponents to 29.7 rebounds and ninth in NAIA II with an 11.5 rebound margin.
