KIRKLAND – Northwest begins the women's basketball postseason with a trip to Eugene, Oregon, Tuesday to take on Northwest Christian at 7 p.m.

Northwest comes in as the No. 8 seed and will be on the road for the extent of its postseason. Northwest plays at top-seeded Northwest Christian, and the remainder of the first-round games are No. 7 College of Idaho at No. 2 Eastern Oregon, No. 6 Warner Pacific at No. 3 Southern Oregon, and No. 5 Corban at No. 4 Oregon Tech. NU must win the CCC Tournament to reach the NAIA Tournament.

Northwest finished the regular season on a positive note, taking a 59-47 win at Walla Walla. Andi Kristinat scored 23 points, and Sam Van Loo added 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Northwest Christian took both games from the Eagles this season, winning 97-64 in Eugene and 84-80 in the Pavilion. Van Loo and Livi Lindsey averaged 12.5 points, and Lexi Biggerstaff averaged 11 in those two contests. Van Loo averaged 8.5 rebounds, while
Maya DuChesne led the team with five assists per game. Kaylen Kamelamela averaged 20.5 points and Morgan McKinney 19 against NCU.

This will be Northwest's last women's basketball game against Northwest Christian. NCU officially changes its name later this spring to Bushnell University. They will retain the Beacons nickname.

Van Loo leads the Eagles with 12.5 points per game and is the only double-figure scorer on the team. She shoots 51.9 percent from the field and is 22
nd in the NAIA with that percentage. Van Loo tops the NU rebounding charts with 8.4 rebounds per game, which is 44
th nationally. Van Loo also is 20
th nationally with 3.63 offensive rebounds per game.

Northwest Christian claimed the regular-season Cascade Collegiate Conference crown and punched its ticket to the NAIA National Tournament. Morgan McKinney leads the Beacons with 18.8 points per game, with Aspen Slifka checking in at 13.8. Kayce Mock, who leads the team with 8.3 rebounds per game, also is fourth in NAIA II with her 45.5 percent three-point shooting percentage. NCU is 23-5 overall and went 17-3 in conference games. The Beacons are ranked 16
th in NAIA Division II.Â
