KIRKLAND – Northwest hits the road for a pair of games in separate classics in Oregon this weekend.

The Eagles play in the Corban Classic on Friday, taking on Embry-Riddle at 6 p.m. NU then moves to the Beacon Classic on Saturday and faces Pacific Union at 6 p.m.

Both Corban and Bushnell have a mask rule, but no vaccination requirement, in place.

NU has a pair of guards leading the team in scoring. Livi Lindsey averages 13 points, and Grace Meza averages 10.6 points per game.

Northwest won its eighth game in a row last Friday to set a school record, but the streak was ended on Saturday by Providence. That win streak included the last six games of last season. Lindsey had 12 points, three assists, and seven rebounds in that loss at home to Providence on Saturday, dropping NU to 2-1. Meza had four steals.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University out of Prescott, Arizona, leaves that state for the first time for games Wednesday at Southern Oregon and over the weekend against NU and Corban in Salem. The ERAU Eagles are 3-3 and have won two straight. Among their two losses was a 70-60 home setback against Providence. Junior guard Susie Reynoso leads ERAU at 12.7 points and 3.7 assists per game, and Meghan Strickler averages a team-best 6.3 rebounds.

Northwest won the only meeting between it and Embry-Riddle, 61-56, in Prescott back in 2016.

Pacific Union suffered through a pair of blowouts to open the season, losing to the College of Idaho and Menlo. They play Bushnell on Friday before taking on the Eagles on Saturday. Olivia Crigler leads the Pioneers with 21.5 points per game. Alexis Datcher averages a team-leading 4.0 rebounds per game.

Pacific Union got a 77-76 win over the Eagles back in the 2011-12 season, which was the only time the schools have met in women's basketball.
