Grace Meza scored 23 points, and Northwest made a 44-point improvement in an 82-59 exhibition loss at Seattle University Saturday.

NU lost at Seattle 106-39 in December.

Meza knocked down five three-pointers in 10 attempts and was joined in double figures in the scoring column by
Grace Hammond with 10 points. NU registered 44 bench points, with
Jennie Goldsberry joining Meza and Hammond from off the bench with six points.

"This game was a great learning experience for us this afternoon," said NU Head Coach
Ken Crawford. "We had some players that stepped up and played well, and I think everyone would say that they learned a lot! We're looking forward to continuing to get game experience and doing it safely."

Livi Lindsey tied the game early, 2-2, with a pair of free throws, but the Redhawks used a 20-2 run to build a 22-4 lead.

Hammond hit two three-pointers, and Meza added four points in a 12-2 Eagles run that saw them cut the lead 24-14. SU scored the final four points of the quarter for a 28-14 lead.

Northwest had cut the lead to 11 points before SU scored five points in the final four seconds of the half to build a 45-30 lead.

Sam VanLoo reeled in seven rebounds,
Kim Weden had four assists, and Meza led with two steals.
Andie Kristinat had NU's lone block.

After three exhibitions, the Eagles play their first counting game Wednesday at Seattle Pacific.
