KIRKLAND – Northwest plays its first women's basketball counting game Wednesday, visiting Seattle Pacific for a 6 p.m. contest.
Northwest is seeking its first season-opening win since beating Simpson on the road in 2017.
Northwest and Seattle Pacific got together for a scrimmage last season, but the teams haven't met in a counting game since 2005 when the Falcons won 92-65. SPU is 8-0 in the series.
Grace Meza scored 23 points and
Grace Hammond chipped in 10 in an 82-59 exhibition loss at Seattle University Saturday. Meza and Hammond led a 44-point bench scoring effort, and the Eagles made a 44-point improvement over their previous loss at SU.
Seattle Pacific is 5-4 this season, including a 2-2 mark against Cascade Collegiate Conference teams. The Falcons split two-game home sets against Lewis-Clark State and College of Idaho.
Ashley Alter leads SPU with 13.2 points and 2.2 steals per game. Kayla Brundidge averages 6.9 rebounds, and Abril Rexach Roure leads with 4.4 assists per game.
