KIRKLAND – Northwest launches into the second half of the Cascade Collegiate Conference season this weekend, hosting Walla Walla at noon on Friday and Lewis-Clark State at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Northwest, in compliance with King County, will require visitors to supply proof of Covid-19 vaccination or a negative PCR Covid-19 test within 72 hours of game time. Rapid antigen tests are not acceptable. Individuals under 12 years of age, who are not eligible to be vaccinated, are not required to be tested for entry. Masks are still required.

The Eagles dropped under .500 (5-6) in the league after a pair of close losses last weekend, including a 71-68 setback against the College of Idaho on Saturday.
Caitlin Monten led the Eagles with 15 points, followed by
Sam VanLoo with 14 and
Andie Kristinat with 10.Â

Northwest features three players averaging in double-figure points this season, led by
Livi Lindsey at 11.7. VanLoo averages 11.1 points on 54.1 percent shooting, which is the fourth-best field goal percentage in the CCC.

Northwest is 21-2 all time against Walla Walla after knocking off the Wolves earlier this season, 72-56. VanLoo had 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Lindsey posted 10 points. Jaliyah Casem led the Wolves with 14 points, and Paulina Quintana added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Wolves come to Kirkland at 1-17 overall and 0-11 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Carolina Montes-Estrada leads WWU at 16.1 points per game, while Casem averages 12 points and 11 rebounds. Walla Walla hasn't won since Nov. 28. The Wolves were charged with a Covid-19 forfeit on Friday and lost to Corban, 70-58, on Saturday.

Northwest is 2-4 all time against Lewis-Clark State. The Eagles lost 70-59 in Lewiston back in December. Meza had 19 points, Lindsey added 12, and VanLoo contributed nine points and a dozen rebounds. Maddie Holm had 13 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists to lead the Warriors.

Lewis-Clark State rolls into Washington at 14-3 overall and 8-3 in the conference after sweeping Corban and Bushnell at home last weekend. LCSC had lost the previous two games due to Covid-19 forfeits. The Warriors play big inside, leading the Cascade Collegiate Conference in rebounding blocked shots. The CCC's top-scoring offense is led by Callie Stevens at 16.5 points per game. Holm has been impressive, averaging 12.9 points and 11.6 rebounds. Adyson Clabby directs the offense, averaging 3.4 assists.
