KIRKLAND – Northwest sets out on the road for the first time in 2022 with 3 p.m. games Saturday at Corban and Sunday at Bushnell. The games originally were scheduled for Friday and Saturday but had to be adjusted due to flooded travel routes.
 
Both Corban and Bushnell require fans to wear masks at indoor events. As of Jan. 3, neither school was requiring proof of the vaccine. Be sure to check for updates on each school website.
 
Northwest dropped to 10-4 overall and 4-3 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after a 72-54 loss to Southern Oregon on Sunday. Grace Meza had 16 points, and Livi Lindsey added 12 points and five steals.
 
NU is led by Sam VanLoo, who averages 11.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game. Meza gets 11.2 points per game, and Lindsey averages 10.9 points to go with her team-high 2.5 steals per game. Maya DuChesne tops the team with 3.3 assists per game.
 
Corban has won the last five games against Northwest. The Warriors won 68-48 the last time the teams met in Salem in the 2019-20 season. Ellesse FitzGerald had 12 points, and DuChesne had 11. Corban is 30-22 all time in the rivalry.
 
Corban is coming off of a lost weekend in which they had to forfeit games to Eastern Oregon and the College of Idaho due to COVID-19. The Warriors have now lost 10 consecutive games to drop to 1-13 overall and 0-7 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Gemma LaVergne leads the Warriors with 14.3 points per game. Holly Golenor averages a double-double with 13.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. 
 
Northwest has a narrow 14-13 lead in the all-time series with Bushnell. The Beacons have won the last three games in the series, including a 90-67 win in the 2019-20 CCC Tournament in Eugene. Lindsey had 20 points and five steals for NU in that game. 
 
Bushnell had a successful New Year's weekend with wins over the College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon. The Beacons are 8-7 overall and 6-2 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Aspen Slifka leads Bushnell at 16.4 points per game to go with 30 steals. Morgan McKinney gets 14.2 points and 3.9 assists per game.
