KIRKLAND – Northwest pays its first visit to Oregon this weekend, taking on Oregon Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and No. 23 Southern Oregon at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Northwest battled Evergreen State but fell short, 65-60, to drop to 3-4 on the season and 1-2 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
Maya DuChesne had 20 points, and
Grace Harder added 13 points and nine rebounds.
Kyrin Baklund and
Kylie Lunday lead the Eagles in scoring at 10.3 and 10.0 points per game, respectively. Baklund leads the Eagles with eight three-pointers, and Lunday leads the team inside the arch, shooting 43.6 percent.
Katie Fleming leads the team with 16 assists and shares the lead in steals with
Morgan Marshall at seven. Fleming also has been the most efficient three-point shooter, getting 32 percent of her perimeter shots to fall.
Lunday leads the team with 7.8 rebounds per game, with Harder pulling down 6.3. Harder leads the team with 16 offensive rebounds.
Oregon Tech is 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after its 81-47 loss at home to Southern Oregon on Saturday. Olivia Sprague leads the Owls at 21.4 points and 3.9 assists per game. OIT averages 11 more rebounds per game than their opponents.
Ranked 23rd in the NAIA, Southern Oregon improved to 6-2 overall and 2-1 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference with an 81-47 win at Oregon Tech on Saturday. Brianna Phiakhamngon leads the team with 13.8 points and 2.5 assists per game. Kami Walk averages 12.4 points and 6.5 rebounds.
Northwest is 9-29 in its series with Oregon Tech, but the Eagles won the last meeting in Klamath Falls, 58-54. Southern Oregon has a 33-9 lead in the series with NU.
The Raiders have won 16 of the last 17 meetings, including a 75-50 win over the Eagles in Ashland last season.
