KIRKLAND – Northwest plays at Southern Oregon on Tuesday in its first postseason game since the pandemic. The last contest was a 90-67 loss at Bushnell (then Northwest Christian) in the first round of the 2020 Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament.
 
Along with Northwest at Southern Oregon, the other three quarter-final matches on Tuesday have top-seeded Lewis-Clark State at home against College of Idaho, third-seeded Eastern Oregon at home against Warner Pacific, and fourth-seeded Bushnell at home opposite Oregon Tech.
 
Northwest knocked off Corban in the regular-season finale on Saturday, 69-59, to carry a two-game winning streak into the postseason. Grace Meza led the Eagles with 16 points, followed by Sam VanLoo with 14, Maya DuChesne with 13, and Livi Lindsey with 10. VanLoo had 10 rebounds for her sixth consecutive double-double. Shelaine Lorenz led with five assists, and Lindsey had five steals.
 
VanLoo took over the scoring lead for the Eagles this month and now averages 13.5 points per game. She also leads the team with her 56.8 shooting percentage. Lindsey is the team's top three-point shooter at 36.5 percent and averages 12 points per game. Meza averages 11.6 points and shoots free throws at a 78.8 percent clip.
 
Southern Oregon won both games against Northwest this season, 72-54 in Kirkland and 60-58 in Ashland last month. Lindsey averaged 15 points and six steals in those two games. Meza scored 10.5 points per game against SOU, and VanLoo averaged 10 points and 9.5 rebounds. Kami Walk averaged 17.5 points for SOU in those two games with Syd'Nee Fryar and Dominque Harding at 14 each. 
 
The Raiders are 25-5 overall and went 18-4 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference season. SOU has won nine of its last 10 games. Walk averages 16 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, and Briana Phiakhamngon averages 10.4 points.
