KIRKLAND – Northwest swept the Cascade Collegiate Conference's Women's Soccer Player of the Week Awards, it was announced Monday, with Hanne Breur earning Defensive Player of the Week and Claire Jo Diede getting Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Diede, a senior from Everett, figured in every goal in Northwest's 3-0 win over Fraser Valley. She had an assist on the game-winner and scored the other two goals.
 
Breur, a freshman keeper from DeBilt, Netherlands, got a shutout in her college debut, recording three tough saves in the victory over Fraser Valley.
 
"Both Claire and Hanne had great games to start off the season, and I'm pleased they are being recognized for their performances," said NU Head Coach Bryan Chud.
 
These are the first awards of the season and the first Player of the Week honors for both athletes.
