Dawson Andrews Finished Fifth in the NAIA Marathon Classic

Sacramento, CA - Northwest graduate Dawson Andrews represented Northwest in the NAIA Marathon Classic and received All-Marathon Classic honors.

In a race that featured 49 racers in a span of 26.2 miles across Sacramento, Andrews stood out as among the best of them, finishing an astonishing fifth place with a time of 2:27:53.

Andrews was a 2022 Northwest graduate who majored in education and has been with the cross-country team for six years. As an NU student-athlete, he raced in three NAIA Cross-Country Championships, was an academic all-conference athlete every year he was eligible, and set an NU half-marathon record in the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in May 2022.

"This was the last race in uniform for [Andrews]," said Head Coach Mark Mandi. "He's been with our team since 2018, and this was the perfect send off. He was already an All-American in the half marathon (also 5th place), but he displayed all his God-given characteristics over 26.2 miles. He was gritty, competitive, focused, and persistent. So proud of Dawson and how he has represented Christ and NU over the years."
