KIRKLAND, WA - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the top scholar athlete teams for the 2023-24 school year. This honor is given to teams with a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
Northwest University saw nine teams receive this honor. The nine teams include women's basketball, women's beach volleyball, men's cross country, women's cross country, men's track and field, women's track and field, men's soccer, women's soccer, and women's volleyball.
"These awards show that we have coaches who are making academics a high priority in recruiting and in their programs," said Athletic Director Gary McIntosh. "Not only are the coaches doing a great job leading their teams to success outside of competition, but this is also a reflection of the high character athletes we have at NU. I'm proud of the athletes for making the classroom a priority and for the success they are having."
