Tommy Jordan stepped up to lead the Eagles with 12 points tonight
Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. - Warner Pacific held Northwest to a season low scoring output as they defeated the Eagles 68-57 and drop NU into a 5-way tie for second place in the topsy turvy Cascade Conference. The College of Idaho maintains the top spot in the league with their win tonight.

The Eagles led the first 9 minutes of the first half, but a Michael Moreland jumper at the 10:25 mark would give the Knights a 14-13 lead which they would maintain the remainder of the half.  With WPC leading 31-27, NU's Michael Greene would drop in two free throws to make it a 31-29 game with 20 seconds to go as Warner Pac would take the 2 point lead into halftime.

The second half would remain a tight struggle and Doug Thomas' jumper at the 10 minute mark would tie the game for its 6th time at 46-46. That would start a 10-1 Knight run as they would increase their lead to 9, 56-47 with 4:00 to go in the game. The closest NU would get would be 7, 62-55 with 1:17 to go, but a 6-0 run by WPC would put the game away as Sean Gaines would hit two free throws with 30 seconds remaining to clinch the win for the Knights.

Playing again without starter Michael Russo, Tommy Jordan stepped up to lead the Eagles (14-5, 5-3 CCC) with 12 points. Senior Brett Skogstad also stepped up with 10 points and C.J. Carter also added 10 for the Eagles. NU's leading scorer, Michael Greene was held to 9 and Ryan McIntosh managed 5 points tonight for the Eagles who shot 41% from the field and only 46% from the free throw line (6-13).

CCC Player of the Week, Doug Thomas, led WPC (11-9, 5-3 CCC) with a game high 21 points and 7 points. Sean Gaines added 13 points for the Knights. Warner Pacific shot 28 free throws making20 for 71%. WPC out rebounded NU 38-32.

"Winning on the road continues to be a challenge for all CCC teams including us," commented Coach John Van Dyke of Northwest U. "Not having Russo tonight also hurt us and we continue to struggle against their zone. We'll need to re-group for another tough challenge tomorrow night at Concordia."
