Eagles Face Wolves to End Regular Season

KIRKLAND – Northwest finishes the regular season this weekend with two games at Walla Walla at 3 p.m. on Friday and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
 
The Eagles have already clinched a home playoff spot but could move up to the third seed and possibly finish in a tie for second with two wins, depending on the outcome of other games this weekend. Northwest will be at home for the first round at 7 p.m., Wednesday. The opponent has yet to be determined.
 
Northwest scored a 73-68 win over Evergreen State Tuesday for Senior Night to lock up a host berth. Christian Hakilimali had 24 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists, and Hussayn Ford added 19 points and 12 rebounds. Dejwan Walker scored 13 points, and Ryan Ricks added 10. 
 
Northwest has not lost to Walla Walla since the Wolves joined the Cascade Collegiate Conference, and the Eagles own an 11-game winning streak. NU won the games last season via forfeit.
 
Ford leads both divisions of the NAIA with 23 double-doubles and averages a double-double in scoring and rebounding. 
 
Ford leads the Eagles with 17.6 points per game, followed by Hakilimali at 14.9, Ricks at 13, Walker at 10.9, and Tanner Davis at 10.0. The team shoots 49 percent from the field, which is the 14th-best mark in NAIA II. Hussayn Ford is 25th at 55.6 percent, and Hakilimali is 35th at 54.9 percent.
 
Hakilimali averages 5.37 assists per game to lead the Eagles. He is seventh in the nation in assists (145) and assists per game.
 
Ford averages 12.3 rebounds per game and took over the lead in NAIA Division II with his 18 rebounds at College of Idaho with that average. He is second in total rebounds at 331, third with 9.18 defensive rebounds per game, and 17th with 3.07 offensive rebounds per game. NU is 13th nationally with an 8.07 rebound margin. 
 
KiAndre Gaddy leads Walla Walla with 20 points and 10 rebounds per game. He is 13th nationally in rebounding. He also leads the team with 1.39 steals and 1.46 blocked shots per game. The Wolves are 6-22 overall and 4-14 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and have lost their last seven and 11 of their last 12 games.
