Eagles to Host Walla Walla, LCSC This Weekend

KIRKLAND – Northwest embarks on the second half of the Cascade Collegiate Conference season this weekend, hosting Walla Walla at 2 p.m. on Friday and Lewis-Clark State at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Northwest, in compliance with King County, will require visitors to supply proof of Covid-19 vaccination or a negative PCR Covid-19 test within 72 hours of game time. Rapid antigen tests are not acceptable. Individuals under 12 years of age, who are not eligible to be vaccinated, are not required to be tested for entry. Masks are still required.
 
Northwest went 1-1 last weekend, including a 75-57 loss to the College of Idaho. CaCoa Chatman led the Eagles with 13 points, followed by Connor Drinkwine with 12 and Tanner Davis with 10. Carson Sparks had eight points and nine rebounds. Rayvaughn Bolton paced the Eagles with six assists.
 
Three Eagles average 10 or more points per game, led by Drinkwine at 11.9 points per game. Bolton gets 11.1 and Chatman 10.6. Davis is on the cusp of joining them, averaging 9.5.
 
Northwest is 24-1 all time against Walla Walla, including a 77-64 win over the Wolves in December. Bolton had 27 points, and Drinkwine added 17. Cole Langstraat led the Eagles with eight rebounds. Bolton also led the team with five steals and five assists. Zayne Browning paced the Wolves with 16 points, while Andrew Vaughn added a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
 
Walla Walla lost a pair of home games to Bushnell and Oregon Tech last weekend to drop to 2-16 overall and 1-10 in the CCC. KiAndre Gaddy leads the Wolves at 17.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, followed by Browning at 16.2 points and 6.7 rebounds.
 
Lewis-Clark State has won 19 of the 20 meetings with the Eagles, including a 103-57 win over NU in Lewiston in December. Bolton had nine points in that loss. Carson Sparks had four rebounds. Silas Bennion had 16 points for the Warriors. Oreon Courtney added 10 points and a team-best nine rebounds. The Warriors shot 64 percent from the field in that game, including 61.9 percent (13-21) from three-point range.
 
Lewis-Clark State is 14-5 overall and 7-4 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference after splitting games at home last weekend. LCSC lost to Corban, 88-78, and beat Bushnell 93-82. Kevin Baker leads the Warriors at 16.1 points per game. Courtney averages 6.5 rebounds. Bennion and Sam Stockton direct the CCC's top-scoring offense, combining for 103 assists through 17 games.
