KIRKLAND – Northwest continues its four-game road swing with a final stop in Caldwell, Idaho, this weekend at the Domino's Classic.
The Eagles play Embry-Riddle on Friday and Montana Western on Saturday in games that begin at 2 p.m. Pacific.
Northwest is 1-0 against Embry-Riddle. NU won the battle of the Eagles in 2016, 86-70 in Arizona.
The game on Saturday will be the first meeting between NU and Montana Western.
Northwest got its first road win of the season on Saturday, taking down Linfield, 85-63. Drew Bryson had 29 points, with CaCoa Chatman adding 15 and Daniel Sharpe 14. James Laurence came off the bench for 13 points. Lewis Pope had 12 rebounds.
Bryson leads the Eagles with 21 points per game this season after his 29-point outing on Saturday. He is shooting 57 percent from the field, 56 percent from three-point range, and 83.3 percent at the free-throw line.
Laurence, a freshman, averages 7.7 points to lead the Eagles' non-starters this season. He's shooting 50 percent from the field, including 44 percent from three-point land.
Pope leads the Eagles with 5.7 rebounds per game and has averaged 2.7 offensive caroms per game.
Embry-Riddle is 1-1 after a 79-65 win over SAGU American Indian College last weekend. Dennis Pomazanov leads with 15 points and 10 rebounds per game. Chase Verdugo is averaging four three-pointers and 13 points per game. Verdugo also averages nine assists.
Montana Western is 4-2 on the season after beating Eastern Oregon 73-53 on Saturday. Jok Jok and Jamal Stephenson lead the Bulldogs with 11.8 points per game apiece. Jok also leads with 5.0 rebounds per game. Brenton Woods has piled up 23 assists in five games.
