KIRKLAND – Northwest hits the road for the final time in the regular season this weekend, visiting the College of Idaho at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Eastern Oregon on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Northwest tries to bounce back from a weekend of close losses, including an 89-86 setback at the hands of Warner Pacific on Saturday that dropped NU to 10-13 on the season and 7-11 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Tanner Davis led the Eagles with 23 points and nine rebounds. CaCoa Chatman and Rayvaughn Bolton had 19 points each, and Tre Newman added 13.

With four games left in the regular season, the Eagles are one game behind the playoff pack. Eastern Oregon has a one-game lead on NU and is tied for seventh with Multnomah at 8-10 in the league. Multnomah has the tiebreaker edge on NU. The Eagles likely need at least two wins–and probably three–to have a chance at the postseason.

Four Eagles average double figures in scoring this season, led by Chatman at 14.4 points per game. Chatman also leads the team at 42.3 percent from three-point range. Bolton averages 12.8 points. Davis led the Eagles in scoring in two games last week and bumped his average to 12.4. Connor Drinkwine averages 10.4 points.

The Yotes have a 25-18 lead in the all-time series against Northwest, including a 75-57 win in Kirkland last month. Ricardo Time had 17 points for the College of Idaho. Chatman scored 13 points to lead the Eagles. Drinkwine added 12, and Davis scored 10.

The College of Idaho is 22-4 this season and has won 14 of its last 15 games. The lone hiccup in that string was an overtime loss at Eastern Oregon last month. Time leads CI with 11.8 points per game, with Drew Wyman checking in at 11.5. The Yotes hold opponents to 64.7 points per game.

Eastern Oregon has a 22-20 lead in the all-time series with the Eagles, but Northwest won the last meeting, 86-70, in Kirkland last month. Cooper Lumsden had 22 points to pace the Mountaineers. Five Eagles scored in double digits, led by Drinkwine with 16 points. Chatman had 15 points, Davis and Carson Sparks had 14 each, and Newman scored 13.

After dropping two road games at Walla Walla and Lewis-Clark State last weekend, Eastern Oregon is 14-12 overall and 8-10 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Phillip Malatare leads the Mountaineers with 19.1 points per game, with Xavier Lovelace getting 12.7 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
